Plasma TV Cabinets

When you are going to spend possibly thousand of dollars on a new plasma television, there is no sense in skimping on the price of plasma TV cabinets. You are going to want something that will hold this expensive monitor in an upright position, without fear of it falling over and being destroyed. The larger the screen the more security you will want in knowing the unit is not going wobble and potentially fall down if someone bumps the plasma TV cabinets on which it is located.

Depending on the size of your new television monitor, it can be made to stand on the floor, on plasma TV cabinets on the floor or hung on the wall. One of the disadvantages of hanging the set on the wall is routing the cable or satellite wires as well as surround sound speaker wires through the wall, or have them showing as they trail from the floor to the back of the unit. If using an entertainment system stand that includes spaces for DVD player or television channel tuner, you will want to make sure it is large enough to handle the size of your monitor.  

Most new televisions include plasma TV cabinets that fasten to the bottom of the monitor, but some of the larger sets also include brackets that attach to the back as well as the bottom to help maintain stability. Once you have placed your set on the floor or on a table top in the plasma TV cabinets, perform a bump test to insure it is not going to go tumbling down. With someone close to the set, bump the furniture lightly and gauge the action of the cabinets. 

When buying new plasma TV cabinets remember this is one area where size does matter. If the cabinets are not made for your size monitor they may not be strong enough to hold even the lighter weight of most plasma televisions and they may not have the center of gravity to provide the security to the set.  

If you do not need the console right away, it is best to take your time and not give into the impulse to purchase the first piece of furniture that matches your criteria.  Take time and make a decision with thought and care and you will be rewarded.  Also, the more you wait the more likely it is that the store will have a sale and you can get a great deal.
