LCD TV
Stands
There are some manufacturers that provide LCD TV
stands with their upright or flat screen televisions. LCD
TV stands that were manufactured specifically for a particular
model and
size TV may not strong or stable enough for the newer
models. The more slender flat screen LCD TVs have the ability
to be mounted on the wall or placed on a LCD TV stand.
Due to the wide screen format of most LCD televisions, they
usually will not physically fit into a traditional television
spot in an entertainment center. These TV stands are close in
size to other units available and will often be adequate for
most TVs. Using LCD TV stands the television can be placed on
top of a flat stand or even a bedroom dresser depending on its
size.
The size of the screen will determine the safest type of LCD TV
stands to use with a particular model. It is important that if
the TV is 50 inches or more that it be placed on a stand that
is big enough to handle it.
Examine the Quality of
the Stand
LCD TV stands are manufactured in proportion with the TV it
will be mounted to and therefore should be able to keep it
upright. Once the TV has been set on the stand carefully test
it for stability. Especially if a large screen unit is going to
be placed on a carpeted floor, the flexibility of the carpet
may cause the unit to tip sue to being top heavy.
All LCD televisions should be handled with care as the screen
is actually two thin pieces of glass holding the gas and color
generators inside. If the television gets dropped or knocked
over, it may ruin the picture, rendering the expensive
equipment useless. The LCD TV stands should hold the unit
securely allowing no opportunity to tip.
There are a few wall mounted flat screen TV's where LCD TV
stands are not necessarily required. If the stand is found to
be defective or becomes damaged in some way, the manufacturer
is the best place to find an exchangement for it.
